Uinta Ground Squirrel

The Uinta Ground Squirrel, commonly nicknamed "potgut", hibernates 8 months out of the year. The four months it is awake, it eats. A lot.
At girl's camp with my dad's ward, these little critters enjoyed running around the pavilion and hanging out in the firewood pile.

I'll make a post later about my days at camp.

More Spirit Lake

Here are some of the other pictures I took at Spirit Lake. These were some of my favorites.

The lake was gorgeous when we first arrived.

Chipmunks were everywhere and they were just too adorable!

It rained and hailed at least twice a day.

Mom finally got to have a s'more. Last time we went to make some, she forgot the graham crackers.

Tons of pretty flowers everywhere.

Our tent was humongous!

This one's for you, Jess!

Our cousins brought a slingshot and this was the first time I actually hit the target. Smack in the middle and embedded pretty good.

These flowers were everywhere by the lake.

These ones were pretty much everywhere too.

These were my mom's favorites up there.

Went photographing with my uncle Todd early in the morning one day and these were some of my shots:

The lake.

The sun shining above the trees.

The lake again.

It was so clear and reflective and gorgeous in the morning.

These only grew in the meadows and in a few spots among the trees.

Here's Ivie giving me a look for taking a picture of her during breakfast.

Ethan doesn't really particularly like bananas so early in the morning.

Family Visit

Went to Willow Park today with my family. It was pretty fun, though Christopher kept telling me to hurry up and move on to the next animal.

The albino porcupine was up and running today! It was eating and it was the cutest thing ever.

Actually got a good shot of the bald eagles they have there.

The ducklings got close enough for me to get a cuuuute picture of them. This one was one of my favorites.

This guy still had a feather stuck to his beak. A new fad or trying to grow a mustache?

The cutest couple that I saw today.

It was right next to the fence, so this little guy was easy to take a picture of. I love the Mohawk.

Willow Park Zoo Again

Went to Willow Park Zoo again with Jess. Here's her post from the trip!

And here are my pictures:

The ducklings were out and as cute as they should be.

Here's a mama feeding her ducklings.

The turtles were everywhere!

This guy had a feather stuck to his beak for some time...

The raccoon was asleep, as it always is.

And introducing a new character: Fro-bird!

Hey Look, It's July!

First post of July, whoo! Yeah, sorry it's taken me so long to post anything. I don't really have any exciting photos to give you...I missed out on all fireworks for the 4th, I was bumming it out at my mom's last week, and because some sex offender moved into my dad's neighborhood, they won't let me go out on my photo adventures. Fun fun.

In any case, I went to a canyon campfire place in Bountiful and got a couple pictures there.

There were these Daddy Longleg spiders all over the walls by the bathrooms there.

Got some pictures of the water skeeters.

Sophie had fun roasting marshmallows.

A dragonfly let me get all in its face.

And last, but certainly not least, I love strawberries!!!
